My Neighbour’s Keeper – Social Media Volunteer
Commitment: 3–6 hours per week
Format: Remote
My Neighbour’s Keeper is a faith-rooted, community-based nonprofit organization providing free and low-cost mental, emotional, spiritual, and practical support to vulnerable individuals in Calgary.
From counseling and respite care to home visits and transportation, supporting individuals facing isolation, grief, illness, and hardship to ensure no one walks alone.
The organization is currently seeking a Social Media Volunteer.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping grow My Neighbour’s Keeper’s online presence and sharing powerful stories of hope, healing, and community support.
Volunteer Responsibilities Include:
– Creating engaging content for their social media.
– Maintaining a consistent social media posting schedule
– Designing simple graphics using Canva or similar platforms
– Sharing client success stories, volunteer highlights, upcoming events, and calls to action
– Monitoring messages and engaging with the online community
– Collaborating with the Executive Director and Outreach Team on digital strategies and campaigns
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
– A strong interest in helping others and supporting vulnerable populations
– Experience managing social media for organizations, causes, or personal initiatives
– An understanding of voice and tone appropriate for empathetic, community-focused storytelling
– Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated work ethic
– Familiarity with Canva, Meta Business Suite, or Buffer is a plus, though not required
