Volunteer Opportunity – Board Directors & Officers (Remote + Calgary-Based)
Organization: Buds in Bloom | Bourgeons en Éclat
Location: Remote (video-conferencing), occasionally in-person in Calgary, AB
Time Commitment: 2–4 hours monthly | 3-year mandate preferred (renewable)
Languages: French is an asset

Overview:
Buds in Bloom is seeking experienced professionals across Canada—especially in Alberta—to serve as volunteer Board Directors and Officers. These individuals will help drive the mission of bringing relief, hope, empowerment, and togetherness to families raising neurodiverse children.
Ideal Candidates Include:
- Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA), Lawyers, Medical Doctors, and other experienced professionals
- Individuals with a track record in Canadian registered charities
- Family members of neurodiverse children or youth (strongly encouraged to apply)
- Those with full-time professional experience (5+ years) in Canada
Responsibilities Include:
- Chairing or co-chairing a committee of skilled volunteers focused on areas such as:
- Fundraising & Campaigns
- Treasury & Finance
- Digital Marketing & Communications
- Community Engagement
- Programming
- Participating in 9 annual meetings/events, including quarterly Board Meetings, a Strategic Planning BBQ, an Annual General Meeting, family appreciation events, and fundraisers.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a phone interview. If successful, a follow-up interview will be held (virtually or in-person). A background check is required due to the confidential nature of the role.
Additional Requirements:
*Must reside full-time in Canada (preference for Alberta-based applicants)
*Experience with QuickBooks is preferred for Treasurer applicants
*Board and charitable governance experience is a strong asset
