Volunteer Opportunity: National Action & Advisory Council Member at LetsStopAIDS

LetsStopAIDS is looking for enthusiastic young volunteers between the ages of 15 to 29 to participate in the formation of an Action & Advisory Council. This council aims to support the development of LetsStopAIDS' national programs, such as LiveLifeLoving and the 24 Hour Wake, which are initiatives developed to engage young people in promoting HIV prevention and knowledge exchange.

NAAC members will provide valuable experience, expertise, and perspectives that add richness and authenticity. They will help shape the work, direction, and priorities of the national program development.

The NAAC's mandate will consist of:

Giving advice, formulating opinions, and making recommendations on issues that affect their respective communities
Evaluating the project's performance
Gathering input from and serving as a liaison within relevant constituencies
Providing feedback and technical expertise
Assisting the National Team in determining essential activities and next steps

LetsStopAIDS is seeking individuals who associate themselves with one or more of the following categories:

50% of members should be people who identify as HIV+ or are currently under PrEP
Black Indigenous Person of Colour (BIPOC)
People living with disabilities
People who identify as LGBTQ2+
Refugees and newcomers
People living in rural communities
Students in high school, college, or university
Background in medical and/or pharmaceutical sciences
Background in public and/or global health
Background in media (HIV/AIDS focus)
Background in human rights and HIV advocacy/activism
The organization will select 4 members from each of the following provinces: Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

As a member of the council, you will uphold a 12-month commitment period and attend 1 meeting per month, where you can provide meaningful feedback that could change outcomes for your local and national communities.

This is a remote volunteer opportunity with a flexible schedule, suitable for youth.
