Volunteer Opportunity: Treasurer

Water Polo West is currently seeking a dedicated Treasurer to oversee our financial matters and ensure alignment with best practices according to our Society’s governing documents and legal requirements.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and circulate financial reports, including Profit and Loss Statements and Balance Sheets, in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Present financial reports at Board meetings.
Assist in preparing and circulating the annual budget for Board approval.
Review and approve payments to suppliers and contractors.
Ensure an external Financial Review is conducted annually and present the draft to the Board.
Present the Financial Review to the membership at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Act as a resource to staff and other Board members on financial matters.
Requirements:

Accounting experience or relevant education.
Ability to commit 4-5 hours per month, plus Board meeting times (usually 1 hour per month).
Must work remotely and have a flexible schedule.
Term:

This is an 8-month volunteer position without remuneration.
