Volunteer Opportunity: ELA Tutor

The Center for Immigrant Education and Training (CIET) is currently seeking volunteer tutors to assist with their Online Learning Hub. This initiative provides one-on-one online academic support in Math, Science, and English Language Arts (ELA) to low-income school-aged children, free of charge. By volunteering, individuals can help CIET continue its efforts to address educational disparities exacerbated by the pandemic.

Volunteer tutors are required to:

Dedicate a minimum of 2 hours per week for at least 6 months.
Offer tutoring sessions on weekdays after 4:00 pm or during weekends.
Support CIET's Family Literacy program by helping children improve their literacy, science, and math skills, as well as complete their homework.
Adhere to CIET's policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality and boundaries.
Provide feedback on student progress and raise any concerns to CIET staff.
Feel comfortable using online platforms such as Zoom and Google spreadsheets.
