Volunteer Ambassador - Womens Activism NYC Project
WomensActivism.NYC is a crowd-sourced, digital archive initiated by the NYC Department of Records and Information Services (Municipal Archives) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote in the United States.
The WomensActivism.NYC project is in search of Volunteer Ambassadors who can assist in collecting and composing stories about inspirational women. Additionally, they will play a key role in motivating and training individuals within their network to do the same. Candidates should have access to a computer/phone and an internet connection. This is a remote volunteering opportunity, and training will be provided.
Requirements - Responsibilities:
Write (or collect) five stories a week about inspirational women to contribute to the archive.
Conduct outreach to organizations, groups, and individuals to involve them in the WomensActivism.NYC project through phone calls, emails, and other means.
Share social media content to promote the WomensActivism.NYC project on various platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the WomensActivism.NYC project.
Strong writing skills are essential.
Strong research and organizational skills are advantageous.
Proficiency in internet usage and familiarity with software applications like Microsoft Office Suite.
Bilingual abilities are a plus.
