Description
Give the gift of you! A volunteer family interaction supervisor monitors visits between children in alternate care and their parents. The volunteer’s role is to supervise the visit, making sure it is safe and productive. The volunteer also often transports the child to and from the visit. Visits are held at a site determined by the social worker and family and may occur at the department, in the community or in the home. Visits can take place during the day, evenings, or weekends. The volunteer’s schedule is flexible and determined by the hours they want to work and the assignments they accept from the volunteer coordinator. Once a case is accepted, the schedule is consistent. Mileage reimbursement at the federal rate is available.
