Volunteer with Cancer Lifeline!
Join Cancer Lifeline as a volunteer and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals affected by cancer. The organization provides vital emotional support, valuable resources, educational classes, and exercise programs to support people in all stages of the cancer process.
Currently, Cancer Lifeline is seeking volunteers for various roles:
Lifeline Volunteers: These volunteers provide resource referrals and offer emotional support through the Lifeline service. Completion of an 18-hour in-person training program is required for this role.
Administrative Support: Volunteers assist with administrative tasks, such as making thank-you calls and handling mailings, to ensure the smooth operation of the organization.
Community Representatives: Knowledgeable Cancer Lifeline representatives are needed to attend community events, providing information and raising awareness about the organization.
Class Support: Volunteers support online classes on topics like artistic expression, nutrition, and exercise through platforms like Zoom.
Volunteer opportunities are available in different areas, and Cancer Lifeline is currently recruiting volunteers for the upcoming training session in July.
The upcoming 3-Day Training Dates are as follows:
Tuesday, July 25th, 10am-4pm
Thursday, July 27th, 10am-4pm
Tuesday, August 1st, 10am-4pm*
Please note that Cancer Lifeline Volunteers are required to complete all three days (18 hours) of training. The Lifeline service operates Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, and provides support, resources, and class registration for patients, caregivers, family members, and friends. Lifeline volunteers commit to one 4-hour shift per week for one year following the completion of training.
Cancer Lifeline is eager to welcome new volunteers to the team! If you are interested in getting involved, please reach out to express your interest. They look forward to hearing from you and working together to make a positive impact in the lives of those affected by cancer.
