Volunteer Position Description: Social Media Copywriter and Community Manager
Position Overview:
The organization is seeking a dedicated volunteer to join as a Social Media Copywriter and Community Manager. In this role, the volunteer will be responsible for creating custom copy for various social media platforms, maintaining brand consistency, and managing online communities. The primary platforms include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. This is a remote opportunity that allows volunteers to contribute their skills from anywhere.
Responsibilities:
The volunteer will be responsible for crafting compelling and engaging copy for each social media platform, ensuring that it aligns with the organization's brand and reflects the unique voice of each platform.
They will oversee the management of social communities across multiple platforms, actively engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages, and fostering meaningful interactions.
Developing and maintaining weekly content calendars, scheduling content in advance to maintain a consistent and cohesive social media presence.
The volunteer will collect and analyze data related to social media performance, providing regular reports on post engagement, audience growth, and other relevant metrics.
Conducting social listening activities to monitor conversations and trends related to the organization and its mission, remaining informed about audience interests and sentiment.
Keeping up to date with social media news, trends, and platform updates, incorporating relevant insights into the organization's social media strategy.
Collaborating in content brainstorms, contributing ideas and concepts to enhance the organization's social media presence.
Providing guidance on current and evolving social media best practices, ensuring the organization stays ahead of industry trends.
Preference will be given to volunteers with experience in basic graphic design, video editing, the television/media industry, and/or the nonprofit sector.
Qualifications:
Strong writing skills with the ability to create compelling and concise copy for social media platforms.
Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, including an understanding of their unique features and audience expectations.
Experience in managing social media communities and fostering engagement with followers.
Proficiency in developing and maintaining content calendars.
Ability to collect and analyze data to assess social media performance.
Knowledge of social media listening tools and techniques.
A keen interest in staying up to date with social media trends and platform updates.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute ideas in content brainstorms.
Knowledge of basic graphic design, video editing, the television/media industry, or the nonprofit sector is preferred.
Passion for symphony music, Latin American music and culture, and Latino advancement is encouraged.
