The Open Door, Inc. provides essential housing and human services for those most at risk. Our model is "housing first" which means, without a safe place to sleep, it is hard to focus on an individuals health and well-being. We accept individuals where they are at in their lives and help get them to where they want to be. Housing is healthcare and we want you to help be apart of our mission!

Description:
The four main tasks we ask our volunteers to assist with are: organization advocacy, social media promotion & engagement, event planning, and event day participation. Organization advocacy pertains to bringing up our organization in appropriate conversations to highlight what we do for those with the highest perceived barriers, and guide them to positive health outcomes. Social media promotion & engagement relates to just being an ally on our Facebook & LinkedIn accounts! This can be anything from liking, sharing, commenting, or making your own posts about our organization. Boosting the amount of people who see and hear of our services helps us be a resource to the community. Event day planning is for our fundraising events which you help plan and guide by offering ideas, suggestions, and solutions if they arise. Lastly, event day participation is being an in-person ally for us at our events to show your support. We may ask our volunteers to do tasks such as helping set up, be greeters, run 50/50 booths, clean up...etc.
