Description
As part of our team of costumed interpreters, the historic woodworker volunteer position will be responsible for providing exceptional visitor experiences on the front-lines of this unique living history museum. Wearing a historical costume, you will deliver engaging and accurate interpretive information and demonstrations of pre-1930 woodworking techniques to the public and school groups. Your historic interpretation and demonstrations will contribute to the authentic presentation of the UCHV. You will use your woodworking expertise and excellent people skills to engage visitors with the history and traditions of Ukrainian settlement in east central Alberta prior to 1930, as well as enhancing their understanding of traditional woodworking and construction techniques.
Skills required:
• Excellent communication skills
• Woodworking skills and experience
• Ability to work independently
• Dependability and committed to your scheduled shift
• Some knowledge of the Ukrainian Village would be an asset

Time Commitment:
Morning and afternoon shifts available
Shifts normally run for 4-6 hours
Shifts can be daily throughout the season
