Overview: As an Administrative Assistant, you would provide support to supervisors in various departments, including Outreach, Education, and Scholarship. This role involves answering phone calls, filing, photocopying, data entry, and other office duties. This role will teach you all about the innerworkings of different departments in a nonprofit organization. Prior administrative experience is preferred. You need an intermediate to advanced level of Spanish and must work for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Requirements: A flexible approach to work; the ability to work as part of a team but also on your own initiative; positive outlook; enjoy working with children and have an appreciation of the pressures and demands within the academic work environment.
Level of Spanish: Intermediate to advanced
-Continued support from the Volunteer Coordinator throughout the duration of the position
-Assistance in organizing a homestay and transportation from the airport
-The opportunity to work in an international, multi-cultural environment
-Collaborate in the development of an organization working for the benefit of Guatemalan children
-Letters of Recommendation
Minimum Commitment: 2 weeks minimum
Hours: 8:00 - 3:00pm, hours can be flexible
Volunteer Fee: All international volunteers are asked for a one-time donation of $75 to cover the administrative costs of running the volunteer program.
