Kindred strives to provide comfort, compassion, dignity, and peace to terminally ill patients and their families through a holistic approach to physical, spiritual, and emotional care by professionally trained hospice teams and specialized community resources. Our volunteers are a part of that team. The volunteer’s role in hospice care includes patient/family and/or administrative support. Volunteers can provide direct support in the patient’s home or a nursing facility with the purpose of companionship and/or caregiver relief. Some volunteers help the family/patient celebrate special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. Administrative volunteers primarily work in our hospice office filing and/or assisting with mailings. Volunteers are treated like employees with the exception of receiving financial payment. We are looking for volunteers in the Lancaster County area. We appreciate the time you are able to give and do not have a limit.
