Description
Facilitator Description (3-5 hours/week):

Facilitators walk alongside women who attend Hagar’s Sisters support groups as they travel through their healing journeys. During group they listen, affirm, and pray with women during this season of learning and healing, and strive to create a safe and welcoming environment in our support groups to nurture and encourage emotional, spiritual, and relational growth and strength. Facilitators know the timing and flow of the components of group time and walk the group through each part of the schedule. They facilitate discussion and/or personal sharing time, and ensure healthy boundaries, kindness, and mutual respect. Facilitators prepare for each week’s meeting, gather before the Sisters arrive to prepare and pray, and maintain a time to debrief. The Facilitators’ practical understanding of the meeting purpose, flow and content, paired with their hearts to serve the Sisters and demonstrate the love of Christ in this way, help to promote an environment where Sisters can flourish. Facilitators are required to be survivors of intimate partner abuse.

Training Requirements: We will provide candidates with this training, but you must be willing to make the following time commitments.

Each week you will spend about 3 to 4 hours going through course material in addition to attending a weekly 1.5 hour discussion group.
Facilitators must serve two semesters as an Assistant Facilitator before they are approved to lead support group courses as a Facilitator.
