Board of Directors Position reports to: President of the Dream Factory Brooklyn
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dream Coordinator is responsible for fulfilling the chapter’s mission: to create life?changing
Dreams for children with critical illnesses. Responsible for ensuring the quality of each Dream
experience through proper interview processes, management, planning, and oversight. The Dream Coordinator may be required to perform other job?related tasks in addition to those specifically presented in this description.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct pre-screening interviews of Dream applicants and their families.
Manage each Dream through the completion of the dream.
Raise resources for each individual Dream by obtaining in?kind donations specific to the Dream.
Submit all required accounting reports for review and approval to the President of the Dream Factory Brooklyn.
Create Dream itineraries unique to each Dream.
Prepare a budget for each Dream.
Keep database Dream files current for each Dreamchild assigned.
Oversee the financial reconciliation and closing of all completed Dreams within the caseload.
Maintain sensitivity to and confidentiality of families being served by the chapter.
Identify and communicate to chapter leadership all potential opportunities and/or relationships that will increase the chapter’s ability to raise funds and grant Dreams.
Identify challenges and recommend solutions to senior leadership.
Participate in monthly Board meetings.
Attend chapter events as needed in support of the chapter’s mission.
Adhere to all National Office performance standards and chapter internal controls, policies, and procedures.
POSITION PREREQUISITES
Must have licensure or certification in mental health counseling or equivalent.
Must have 1-3 years minimum experience working with children.
Must be a self-starter, able to work independently.
