Description
By making outreach phone calls to older adults in Brooklyn New York, you can help fight isolation and share information about community resources including vaccines.

Contacted seniors will be invited to join our Friendly Calls program, where a volunteer(which could be you if interested in that as well) will call them regularly to chat and get to know each other.

Individuals that need support with vaccination will be also connected to resources.

The event will begin with a half-hour training for new volunteers. If you're a returning volunteer, you can just jump right in! We'll make calls for about an hour and a half, with debriefs along the way. We'll be available the whole time to answer any questions and provide technical support.

The mission of the Neighbor Network is to help to fight social isolation, connect older New Yorkers with the resources they need, and bring joy and comfort to seniors and volunteers alike. This program is based in NYC but all volunteers are welcome! For more information about the Neighbor Network, check out theneighbornetwork.org, or email felicia@theneighbornetwork.org.
