About The Position
We are looking for Researchers/Writers to join a project called “Legislative Explainers”. The purpose of this project is to take the original text of a piece of legislation and condense it into understandable language.
Overview of Role:
Most of this work will be doing research, reading statutes, and writing articles
Condensing a legislative piece into a shorter text written in understandable language.
In addition to condensation, detailing the bill’s historical or scientific context, implications, common misconceptions
Participating in weekly team meetings

Requirements:
Statute-reading ability
A practicing lawyer or law student
Reading/Writing, Verbal/Written Communication expertise
One published piece under your belt (could be anything like poetry, Op-Ed, journal)
Policy Research experience
Ideally, a commitment of 10-12 hours per week
