Description
Role:
Want to volunteer at a museum but not sure about a public facing role? Hectic schedule keeping you from volunteering? Want to volunteer with your kids? The Wornall Majors Historic Houses have a volunteer position made for you. We are looking for volunteers to help with preparations for our public events. From cutting string for children’s crafts to setting up chairs, every little bit helps. Many of these tasks can be completed on a flexible schedule or even done from home. Our biggest upcoming need is getting crafts ready to engage the minds of our summer day campers. If you are looking for a way to give back to the community, Wornall Majors can help you do that.

Organization description:
We are a non-profit that operates two of Kansas City’s most historic structures: the John Wornall House and the Alexander Majors House. These historic homes serve as the dynamic backdrop for events and community gatherings. We strive to tell an inclusive and accessible story about American mid-nineteenth-century history.

Position duties:
• Vary depending on needs for upcoming events

Time commitment and schedule:
• Flexible with a varying number of opportunities available each month
• Both weekday and weekends available
• Volunteers are asked to commit to at least two events per year

Onboarding process:
A half-hour conversation with the volunteer manager to discuss what you would like to do and current opportunities.
