In response to COVID 19, we launched a mental health advice team with the purpose of helping those that are mentally affected by the pandemic. Research repeatedly shows that all types of therapy are similarly successful, partly because it is the act of going and working on yourself that does a lot of the work. We have CBT resources on our website and try to actually help people implement lasting changes in their lives. A lot of our mentees are people who were failed by the traditional mental health system or cannot afford to get help.

We are looking for volunteers with a psychology background/degree and/or who have worked as therapists in the past. After a trial period, you may be considered for a leadership position within the organization. We have a truly amazing entrepreneurial environment with lots of opportunities to make a real difference.

Role duties:

Act as a mentor to provide comfort to the mentees who are facing mental health struggles.
Attend regular training to develop mentoring skills.
Constantly check email to respond to inquiries from other volunteers in a timely manner.
Requirements:

Background in psychology.
Strong communications, listening, interpersonal skills.
Long-term commitment preferred.
Self-starter who brings enthusiasm to the table.
