Bigs In the Community
Overview: Commonly known as the Big Brothers Big Sisters program or one to one mentoring. One mentor (Big) and one mentee (Little) spend time together building a friendship based on trust, support, common interests, and fun! Bigs and Littles participate in a variety of activities – everything from riding bikes, skating, reading, working on homework, cooking, playing video games to just talking and sharing with each other

Mentees: Anyone between the age of 6 and 18. These kids just need a little extra support

Mentors: Anyone over the age of 18 who cares about kids

Minimum Commitment: 2 – 4 hours every week or every other week for a minimum of one year

Availability: Edmonton, Strathcona County, Parkland County, Cold Lake, Lac La Biche, Morinville, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, & Vegreville

Where: In the community at sporting events, festivals, coffee shops, swimming pools, libraries etc

When: Evenings and/or weekends when the mentor and mentee are both available
