Description
EFTC's mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education and empowerment. EFTC´s program, the School of Hope, serves over 650 students from kindergarten through university. A key component of our school is the hard work of our volunteers. Volunteers play such an important role in supporting our incredible students and staff. They provide the time, the skills, and the experiences we don´t always have access to as an NGO. Your role as a volunteer will vary depending on your interests, length of stay, and language level. We are always looking for volunteers with unique skill sets. If you do not see a role that fits your qualifications or expectations, contact us to discuss other possibilities!

Volunteer roles include:
- English/Spanish Teacher's Assistant
- English Tutor
- Academic Tutor
- After School Coordinator
- Communications Intern
- Development Intern
- Volunteer Grant Writer
- Garden of Hope Volunteer

Program Highlights
-The School is located on the outskirts of Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage City, renowned for its centuries old architecture and is surrounded by volcanoes.
-The Maya civilisation dates back thousands of years and today their descendants make up more than 50 percent of the Guatemalan population.
-Your volunteer role and schedule can be tailored based on your interests, skills, and experiences.
-Develop your Spanish skills, along with other professional development skills as you work at the school.
-Volunteers can choose their accommodation, including living with a trusted host family whose homes you can stay in.
