Maison Chance is a springboard for orphans, street children, disadvantaged people and people with disabilities in Vietnam. We provide housing, healthcare, education and vocational training, and a place where the under-privileged children and the disabled can study and work, facilitating their rehabilitation and reinsertion into social life. You could say that the saying "Give A Man A Fish, Feed Him for A Day. Teach A Man to Fish, Feed Him for A Lifetime" is practiced here at Maison Chance every day!

Maison Chance Dak Nong Social Center is one of the first in Vietnam to introduce horse therapy to promote emotional growth for our beneficiaries. We now require volunteers to work with our trained horses to provide equine therapy for our beneficiaries. Volunteer with us today if you want to make a real impact through creating something transformative!

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
To provide safe equine-assisted therapy to our beneficiaries while managing the daily health and care of our horses.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teach basic skills using our trained horses to beneficiaries and conduct group and/or individual therapy while enforcing safety
• Daily check and maintenance of equipment and horses, for safety and condition
• Develop or add on to a playbook or volunteer plan for future volunteers or local staff to help continuation of proper training and maintenance of our horses

REQUIREMENTS:
• Comfortable around horses and able to work with horses
• Knowledge of and experience teaching children and adults activities such as grooming, feeding, haltering, leading a horse and basic riding skills
• Experience with horse therapy; working with people with varying disabilities in a riding program
• Ability to handle an emergency in a calm and proficient manner, giving leadership under a variety of situations
• Self-driven work ethic. You should be able to work independently, enjoy taking initiative and seeing things through to completion
