Reporting to the Abbeyfield Board of Directors, the Director of Human Resources and House Management is responsible for coordinating human resources for all paid staff as well as for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the house including oversight of general house-keeping, shopping and meal preparation, decorating (regular and seasonal), and implementation of access protocols (identification of visitors, sign in/out, etc.).
Associated supervisory responsibilities include chairing the House Committee and overseeing staff including the house manager and the relief house manager. This includes providing staff orientation, scheduling, conducting regular performance reviews (including salary reviews) and managing any staff complaints.
The Director of Human Resources and House Management is also responsible for overseeing a house safety volunteer and, in conjunction with the Director of Volunteers and the House manager, any kitchen or cleaning volunteers.
The director will also communicate regularly with the Director of Residency regarding any resident concerns or requests about staff, volunteers, meals, or general house cleaning; however, residents may also bring concerns directly to the Director of Human Resources and House Management.
The Director is responsible for attending monthly meetings and providing a report on staffing issues or proposed changes to house services.
6-8 hours per week.
