Tenderloin Center: Poetry Workshop with De Marillac Academy Students:
Join us at our new Tenderloin Center during Tuesdays: 3:45pm - 5:00 pm and help eighth graders from De Marillac Academy write poetry that explores their identity and community. In this workshop series, we will develop a strong writing community that supports students' diverse voices. The writing that students produce will contribute to the school's annual anthology.

Weekly Workshop with Budding Writers from Glide:
Support and inspire elementary school-age students and watch them grow as writers and thinkers in our imaginative and whimsical Tenderloin Center! Mondays 4:00pm - 5:10pm you'll work with budding writers from Glide Family, Youth & Childcare Center as they learn new writing techniques and craft original works in a variety of genres, including poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. You will help students develop their confidence as writers while guiding them through the writing process, from brainstorming and pre-writing to drafting and revising.

Be a Writing Homework Hero:
Students from the Tenderloin Boys and Girls Club have writing homework, and they'd love your help and encouragement! Join us Wednesdays 3:20pm - 4:40 pm as we help fourth and fifth graders understand their homework directions, brainstorm, plan their writing, draft, and edit for grammar. This is an amazing opportunity to engage students' creativity, build their confidence as writers, and help them develop strong homework habits!

Writing Workshop with Young Writers from Tenderloin Community School:
Support and inspire young learners and watch them grow as writers and thinkers in our imaginative and whimsical Tenderloin Center! Thursdays 2:45pm - 4:10pm you'll work with third and fourth grade writers from Tenderloin Community School as they learn new writing techniques and craft original works in a variety of genres, including poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. You will help students develop their confidence as writers while guiding them through the writing process, from brainstorming and pre-writing to drafting and revising.

While being a consistent volunteer is helpful, we encourage you to participate as your schedule allows.
