The Canadian Cancer Society is seeking volunteer score keepers to help at Face Off Against Cancer in Calgary, September 9-10! Join us as we lace up our skates to raise money in support of cancer patients who have been displaced by the devastating wildfire in Fort McMurray, and in honour of the brave men and women who have battled the blaze.

Face Off Against Cancer is a charity hockey tournament that takes the fight against cancer to the ice. The name of the game is fun but serious money is raised for Canadian Cancer Society-funded research and empowering support programs for people living with cancer.

Hockey enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to play in the weekend tournament to compete for a good cause. The top fundraising teams are awarded with a pick in the celebrity draft, allowing them to add some star power to their rosters.

Proceeds from Face Off Against Cancer 2016 will go to the Canadian Cancer Society for:
• the Wood Buffalo Emergency Fund, which provides financial support for the greatest needs of cancer patients from Fort McMurray and the surrounding Wood Buffalo Region; and,
• groundbreaking research into lung cancer research, which firefighters are at a much higher risk of developing because they are exposed to smoke and chemicals on the job.

Face Off Against Cancer will take place at WinSport Canada Markin MacPhail Centre in Calgary on September 9-10, 2016.

Score Keeper Volunteers are needed to run the score clock, manage game sheets, and return completed game sheets to the hockey operations station. A variety of 3.25 hour volunteer shifts are available during the following times:
• Friday September 9 (5pm-midnight)
• Saturday September 10 (7:30am-6pm)
• volunteers are welcome to sign up for more than one shift!
