Description
Project Overview

This event is where gardeners, landscapers, urban farmers, and beginners come to exchange plants, equipment, and information about ways to make the urban environment more sustainable, beautiful, and healthy. A few people giving a couple of hours of their time makes all the difference!

Volunteers will support by trimming, watering, arranging plants, helping shoppers, and more!

About the Plant Exchange

The Plant Exchange is a community and celebration that encourages resource sharing, reuse, recycling, and green practices. It creates strong neighborhood connections by people-to-people redistribution of excess plants and trees to help beautify and enrich our neighborhoods.

Project Requirements & Important Notes

Volunteers should wear clothes they are comfortable getting dirty.

Bring a hat, gardening gloves (if you have them), and a water bottle.

Volunteers will maintain social distancing.

Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time. For additional resources and guidance on how to keep yourself healthy, visit the CDC website.

If your group is larger than the listed project maximum, please email kim@handsonbayarea.org. For a one-time $50 group sign-up fee, we can assist your team with signing up and coordinating with the agency partner for possible accommodation.
