Role: Social Media Volunteer

Timeframe: Approx. 5-10 hours a month. One-year commitment requested.

Provide personalized services that help adults impacted by sexual violence reclaim the life they deserve;
Foster brave public conversations about sexual violence; and
Cultivate courageous changemakers.
Our vision is to inspire and empower adults to take action within their lives and to shape a strong, supportive community for current and future generations.

Opportunity

Brave Step is seeking passionate volunteer with social media savvy to magnify Brave Step’s mission. The social media volunteer will work collaboratively with the team to develop and execute a quarterly social media strategy/plan with an emphasis on content and engagement on our social channels.

Professional Responsibilities

Utilize creativity and a sharp communications perspective to communicate on a sensitive issue that moves people to action.
Grow Brave Step’s social footprint, increase engagement across platforms, and monitor social metrics.
Manage the nonprofit’s social media presence, crafting and posting content and responding to inquiries.
Collaborate with Brave Step’s team to communicate key initiatives, special events, etc.
Required Qualifications & Competencies

Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or Public Relations, from an accredited college or university; or, the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Organized and has a keen ability at social listening and message development.
Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills and attention to detail when reviewing and editing written materials.
Strong digital/social media skills required working with various social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
