Volunteer Music Teacher: Online Programs

Do you have experience teaching music or experience as a musician? We are looking for volunteer music teachers to make video music classes. We will make them available for free for preschool - high school students on our website and shared via social media. Novices at video and teaching may apply as we have a video team to assist in training you and providing editing services to make you look great and certified teachers to help train you to write (and will help edit) lesson plans!

Before the Covid, ASI arts programs were located at various schools and recreation centers including: Towey Recreation Center, Penn Treaty School, Southwark School, Cione Recreation Center, Fishtown Recreation Center, Samuels Recreation Center, Glavin Recreation Center, and Dendy Recreation Center. Many of our inner city students are from low-income communities that could use hope, release of stress, mindfulness and joy that self-expression through music provide. When this pandemic is over, we look forward to meeting you in person at our office located at the Bok building in South Philadelphia to celebrate!

Join our team of passionate volunteers and help us make a difference in students’ lives by providing engaging art lessons.

Interested applicants might prefer not to videoed and willing to assist teachers by helping with researching and writing lesson plans, or working with kids via instagram live or Facebook live, and taking photos of example of how to make basic musical instruments at home to post on our blog.
