Volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society is a great opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life while fulfilling your own. By joining our team, you will help us continue to lead the fight against all cancers and give hope to people living with the disease.

Are YOU a LEADER and TEAM PLAYER? We are looking for energetic community members that want to make a difference in the fight against cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society Alberta/NWT Division is launching a new event, the Daffodil Tea, and is looking for volunteers. Enhance your leadership skills in event planning, networking, and project management. We are looking for enthusiastic, organized volunteers to join our Daffodil Tea event committee in a variety of roles. Outlined below is a brief overview of positions. The Canadian Cancer Society is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help with the 2016 Daffodil Tea event in Fort McMurray.
Event planning committee positions include:
• Event Chairperson
• Sponsorship Coordinator
• Marketing & Promotions Coordinator
• Auction & Raffle Coordinator
• Volunteer Coordinator
• Ticket Sales Coordinator
• Production Coordinator

Committee Member Responsibilities:

• Participate actively in all committee meetings (twice a month)
• Keep fellow committee members informed of progress and issues that arise
• Work together as a team to problem solve and support the collective effort
• Ensure all responsibilities and expectations pertaining to your position are completed
• Support all aspects of the event, including promoting the event to help increase ticket sales

Qualification/Skills:

• Proven leadership, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to motivate and lead volunteers and engage event stakeholders
• Ability to develop and execute strategy around event growth and potential
• Comfortable with public speaking, cold-calling, presentations and networking
• Project management and fundraising/event experience an asset
• Screening includes application form, reference checks and interview
