Seeking caring, compassionate volunteers to staff our suicide prevention hotline. Samaritans Southcoast suicide prevention hotline is open to all callers, 15 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our hotline is available free to anyone who needs support. Kare Calls are made to seniors who might otherwise be lonely and isolated.

Each volunteer participates in a 35-hour mandatory training program, which includes working with a trained volunteer. Trainings are scheduled for November 2021, and January 2022. Volunteers are asked to cover a 2.5-hour shift or two weekly. A minimum of a 6-month commitment is expected.

Volunteer work is remote and flexible.

Internship and work-study are offered to college students as well as community service opportunities.

Applicants must undergo a background check to be considered.
