Description
Wells Brings Hope (WBH) Ambassadors Program is an eight-week seminar designed to train young people, primarily high school students, in how to engage in community outreach and generate awareness of and support for WBH.

The group will meet on Zoom once a week on a Saturday morning for one hour where they will learn about the water crisis in West Africa, with a focus on its negative impact on women and girls. Participants will also learn what Wells Bring Hope is doing to solve the problem and transform lives for generations to come.

Between sessions, participants will be given assignments such as:

Research Niger and its problems
Evaluate and review Wells Bring Hope website and social media handles
Looking closely at their community and identify potential targets for reaching out to a select group of organizations
Create a video to convey the problem and the solution
During the meeting...

Participants will discuss the information they have learned in their research and analysis
Listen to guest speakers and ask questions
Provide feedback on what Wells Bring Hope can do to better to engage young people and other community members
Upon completion of the eight-week course and one follow-up meeting one month after the course, students will receive a certificate indicating that they have successfully fulfilled the requirements of the seminar. Letters of recommendation and verification of community service hours can also be provided upon request. Volunteer opportunities with WBH will also be offered upon successful completion of the course.

Our next session is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2022 and will end tentatively on April 9, 2022. This is subject to the number of participants interested.

If you’d like to be part of the Wells Bring Hope Ambassador Program, we’d love to hear from you! Respond to this Volunteer Match posting or visit our Ambassador Program page at wellsbringhope.org/ambassadors-program/ to learn more or sign up.

Who are we?

Wells Bring Hope drills wells to bring safe water to rural villages in Niger, West Africa, the poorest country in the world. We are committed to saving lives with safe water and providing sustainable solutions to transform lives for generations to come. The burden of finding water falls upon women and girls who walk miles every day to find water. It means that girls are unable to attend school and women have no time to work and earn money for their families.

We are an all-volunteer organization, with just one paid employee, and so we place a very high value on those who want to work with us. The work of our volunteers is more than just "a drop in the bucket." It is the lifeblood of our organization. Volunteers bring their passion and dedication to our team and for that, we are are very fortunate.
