Position Summary: The Grant Writer & Special Projects Coordinator oversees the process and production of all materials related to the grant application process from identifying and qualifying prospects, to writing proposals and reports, to collecting data, budgets, and all relevant documents, to submission.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years previous experience as a grant writer in social service organization or other complex nonprofit with multiple constituencies and programs.
Knowledge in research and grant writing; nonprofit experience a plus
Knowledge of fundraising information sources.
Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors.
Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies. Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.
Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
Clear, precise and compelling writing skills
High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Primary Duties:

Responsibility for researching, writing, compiling, and managing the timeline of all grants including maintenance and oversight of workflow processes and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient collection and timely grant submission.
Write grant applications and all reports and conduct prospect research on new opportunities that align with Project Affinity’s mission.
Coordinate and follow-up on the progress of submitted proposals
Lead proposal generation process and response to RFPs, Pre-Qualification, Bidding and formal presentations.
Develop materials showing progress of programs for donor updates and ongoing communications.
Comply with all grant reporting as required by law and foundation/corporate donors.
Write and maintain correspondence including concept notes, proposals, reports, and introductions
