This program provides one-on-one sighted volunteer assistance to people in their community who are blind or partially sighted. Participants and volunteers are paired for activities such as reading, friendly visiting, walking, art or creative activities, shopping, and so many more. If you are someone who is looking to make that one-on-one connection and help someone within your community, this is the opportunity for you. We look for volunteers who are friendly, positive, empathetic, responsible, and comfortable working with individuals with vision loss. Being a Vision Mate is a very flexible opportunity as we determine your schedule based on your availability along with the individual you are partnered with. We do ask for a minimum 6-month commitment for this role.
