Description
If you love swimming and are interested in helping one of our “Little Nemos” learn to love swimming too, this is the perfect opportunity!

The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta (CPAA) is a registered non-profit organization and makes a difference in the community by enriching the lives of people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Through our programs and services, we promote awareness, acceptance and understanding for persons with disabilities to live Life Without Limits.

When a child is supported in the water by an enthusiastic, positive, and gentle natured person, it helps them to feel more comfortable in the water and to benefit from the movement and warmth on their muscles. Each child in the class will be supported by one volunteer. Volunteering for this program is an opportunity to share your love for the water and being active to benefit a child with limited ability.

Volunteers are required to feel comfortable in deep water and able to support the movement of the participant they are working with.
Time commitment: Saturdays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM Due to the nature of the position, a police check with vulnerable sector search, and a child intervention check will be required. Volunteer commitment is for the duration of the program session.
Note: Must reside in Calgary area and minimum age of 18.
