Anticipated Impact of this Event for the Organization: over $40,000 was raised last year!

Benefits to Volunteer: All volunteers will receive a Canada Day Road Race t-shirt and a few extra surprises!

Specific Duties:
•Course Marshall's are positioned around the Race Route, they are there to help ensure the Race Participants are going the correct direction, keep an eye out of someone is in distress and needs medical assistance, direct local traffic, and cheer on all of the participants. Once the last participant has gone by their position, the course marshalls will be done their shift. There will be someone that will drive by their position to let them know that it is okay for them to leave. At that time, they are more than welcome to come down to the Legislative Grounds to the Start/Finish Line to join in the fun.
•Finish Line Volunteers assist with handing out Finisher Medals, directing the participants to pick up their water bottles, where the post race snacks are.
•General Volunteers who are positioned where needed.

Skills Required:
•Course Marhshall's must be friendly volunteers who can focus on their area to make sure people are safe, the course is looking good and help out as needed.
•Its important people can maintain their post without being easily distracted.

•Finish Line Volunteers must be organized and friendly, with a good sense of event logistics.

•General Volunteers must be flexible, able to easily take direction, and confident to work alone.

Food: Volunteers can bring snacks, water, sunscreen, chairs (if they are course Marshall) and any other items to be prepared for the weather. If they are a Course Marshall there will be a vehicle coming around in the morning to deliver coffee and cookies. For Volunteers on Site, Starbucks has a table set up in the Morning for people to pick up coffee.

Training: There is no formal training, questions can be asked when you pick up your package at the Running Room. If you are working on Site at the Start/Finish Line there will be teams around to help explain what needs to get done at that time.

Parking Information: There is limited parking on site at the Legislative Grounds, if you are volunteering at the Start/Finish Line. Public Transportation is recommended. If you are a Course Marshall you can park or take public transportation to your spot on the race route.

Working Conditions: The event is outdoors.

Dress Code: You will be given a T-shirt to wear. Volunteers should come dressed for the weather and bring sunscreen.
