Batting Against Breast Cancer (BABC) is a soft ball tournament held in September where participants raise money then come out and play ball in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Position Description: The volunteer support person will be asked to do a variety of administrative tasks along with cold and warm calling to BABC participants, potential sponsors, and potential third party events. Tasks such as FAX mailouts, photocopying, data entry, spreadsheet maintenance, prize pick up and team recruitment will all be a part of the role at various times. Other tasks as required.

Must be available to volunteer at least once a week for approximately 4 hours.

Qualifications and Skills: Reliable, outgoing, organized, excellent communication skills, not afraid to make cold calls, cold emails, ability to take on tasks and complete them on schedule, resourceful, can work with excel spreadsheets.

Benefits to Volunteer: The volunteer will acquire event planning and execution skills and will be helping to plan and execute a signature fundraising event celebrating its 15th anniversary.

Orientation and Training Plan: Training will be provided on an ongoing basis.

Time Commitment: 4 hours a week minimum. Preferably Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays

Length of Commitment: ASAP – Sept 30, 2018 with additional hours worked in the summer months.
