Description
Yes, this is the rose garden shown in the movie "Lady Bird"! Located at the corner of 33rd and H Streets, and over seen by the non-profit Friends of East Sacramento, we welcome volunteers all twelve months of the year! Our 1 1/2 acre garden has 1,200 roses and 8 perennial beds! In 2018, there will be monthly volunteer events open to the public each 2nd Saturday of the month! Our next Saturday events will be Saturday, February 10th from 9 am until noon, and Saturday, March 10th from 9 am until noon. Currently we are continuing to tweak the pruning that was just accomplished and need to start cleaning up the flowerbeds of fallen leaves and petals. Our forest of camellia trees are also dropping their blooms which need to be picked up. The events will last from 9 am until noon. Bring your bypass clippers, gloves and buckets (we have some supplies loaned out on a first come first served basis), and come help us keep the Rose Garden beautiful, healthy, and movie worthy! There are also opportunities for individual volunteer orientations, once trained you can come volunteer on your own schedule! For more information please contact friendsofeastsac@aol.com. Hope to see you there!
